Hey Everyone out in the Blogsphere!

I'm starting a new endeavor and I'd like all of you to come along for the ride.  I picked up this Daily Creativity Journal about a year ago at a local Borders that was going out of
business.  In it the author, Noah Scalin, challenged folks to create something everyday for a year and to document it.  Not only document it, but to do it online so as to be held accountable publicly.  I thought about it for quite some time trying to come up with a Grand Theme that people might be interested in and that I could sustain for a year without it feeling like a job.  No big idea really struck me at first. I like to paint, and make jewelry but did I really have the inclination or the time to do it everyday without fail?  I didn't think so. Then a little idea began whispering to me as I went about my daily life. I am like a kid, always noticing things that fascinate me, a glimpse of a pattern here, the way the light falls there.  What if I photographed the things that I saw, this wonder?  I even wrote the word "wondering" down in the journal, but still I slapped the idea back, worrying that it didn't involved "true creation".

Today, however,  as I was watching Super Soul Sunday on OWN and finally reorganizing and cleaning off the items on our mantle,  I surrendered.

I've displayed the sea urchins in the photo below on our mantle for about 10 years.  They are up high in a window sill so I see their beauty mostly in profile.  Today I took them down and gave them a long overdue rinse, and voila! All these beautiful colors that I had forgotten were revealed.  I didn't want to lose the moment so I snapped a picture as I held them in the palm of my hand. That moment I knew I had my year long project,  Wonderlust was born. So here I go. Wish me luck.
